The Bureau for Behavioral Health has been tasked by the West Virginia Legislature to identify which prevention activities are being implemented throughout the state. As a result, the Bureau is asking that all community-based prevention organizations complete the following survey and table, keeping in mind all the various populations each organization serves. This is an important opportunity to share the work that you do and your barriers with the Legislature.

We encourage you to share this email with other prevention partners—just in case we missed anyone—to help us capture a comprehensive picture of prevention in the state. If your organization is not involved in prevention work please feel free to disregard or share with someone who does.

Our goal is to identify the reach of implemented prevention efforts, collect information on who is implementing prevention activities, and describe the prevention infrastructure and available resources in West Virginia. This project is being completed in collaboration with the West Virginia Department of Education.

Please note the short turnaround time on this two part request, as we are to present our findings to the Legislature in late January. Please complete the survey and the attached table by January 8, 2020. The survey will be submitted using the link listed below and the attached table should be emailed back to Laura Hunt (Laura.N.Hunt@wv.gov).

It is also important to note that we are requesting one completed survey and table for each organization. It is fine to use multiple staff to help complete the survey, but all responses should be submitted as one completed product.

We appreciate your cooperation and look forward to learning more about your prevention activities.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
