The West Virginia Comprehensive Cancer Coalition, Mountains of Hope, invites you to apply for a 2019-2020 mini-grant. Mountains of Hope mini-grants support community level projects that help reduce the burden of cancer in West Virginia. Projects that use aims, objectives, and/or strategies from the 2016-2020 West Virginia Cancer Plan are encouraged.

As a Mountains of Hope mini-grant recipient you have access to a network of state and local governments, private and nonprofit organizations, health,  medical, and business communities, academic institutions, researchers, cancer survivors, caregivers, and advocates. We hope that being equipped with these resources assists your project to help conquer cancer in WV. Before beginning your application we encourage you to think about the evaluation plan, sustainability, and sharing of your project. Priority will be given to projects that exhibit one or more of the following:

  • Applicants that focus on policy, systems, or environment change strategies
  • Applicants that address community-clinical linkages
  • Applicants that address Health Equity or focus on under-resourced populations
  • Applicants that have previously attended two MOH meetings
  • Applicants that have enrolled into WV Health Connection
  • Applicants that have used the most recent WV Cancer Burden Report data to strengthen their proposed project.

Good luck on your application and thank you for your interest in reducing the burden of cancer in the Mountain State.

Sincerely in service,

Shelly Dusic

Coalition Chair
