The FAST (Family Advocacy Support and Training) Program of Legal Aid of West Virginia is pleased to announce our Children’s Mental Health Awareness Event!  We are hosting an Awareness Walk at the Appalachian Power Park in Charleston on May 13h from 5:30p to 8p.    It is our desire to display children’s art work at the ballpark during the walk event.  We would like to ask for samples of children’s art from your program.  The theme for National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day this year is Healthy Families, Resilient Children: Mental Health is a Family Affair!

As you may know, green signifies new life, new growth, and new beginnings.  On May 13th, we want to partner with you to raise awareness for the needs of youth who face mental health challenges in our communities.  We appreciate the opportunity to work with each of you and for the help you offer to children and families in West Virginia.  During the event, we will be offering green ribbons and balloons, snacks, and prizes.   We would love for you to join us for our walk!

If you would like for us to display children’s art from your program, please contact us at the number and/or email listed below by April 30th, 2016.  We would be glad to pick up the art samples from your agency.  If you are not able to join us in Charleston on that day, we would ask that you and your staff help us turn your city green by wearing a green t-shirt to support awareness of children’s mental health.

For more information, please contact Robin Hughes at 1-866-255-4370, ext. 2525, or by email at rhughes@lawv.net.  We look forward to seeing you May 13th!

Sincerely,

The FAST Staff at Legal Aid of West Virginia
