FSPTM hosting Financial Fitness Friday on June 20
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Saving for a dream vacation may not be as difficult as one would think.
The Financial $tability Partnership™ of the River Cities (FSP™) is providing financial tips for a happier vacation at its free Financial Fitness Friday meeting on June 20 at The Thai House Restaurant from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Through other games and activities, participants will learn to budget, save and make the most of their paychecks. Participants will have the opportunity to win movie tickets and other prizes at the event. Free appetizers will also be served. Meetings are the third Friday of the month.
Ruth Bonecutter, an employee at Huntington Federal Savings Bank and a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program client at the Cabell County Public Library in 2014, attended Financial Fitness Friday in April.
“I had no idea that learning about finances could be so much fun,” Bonecutter said. “We played a game that put us through real-life scenarios. It was a great learning experience and fun at the same time. I laughed so much. I’m really looking forward to the next session.”
The Financial $tability Partnership™ of the River Cities (FSP™) and the West Virginia Alliance for Sustainable Families have partnered on the program, funded by the Benedum Foundation, to help West Virginia residents build assets and reach financial independence. During Financial Fitness Fridays, participants partner with a coach to reach their financial goals.
