Just in time to celebrate 2017 National Children’s Dental Health Month, Cabell County Family Resource Network (CCFRN) is proud to launch our “Resources for Healthy Teeth Toolkit”.  This project is done in collaboration with Marshall University and DentaQuest foundation.

The information in the Toolkit is compiled to make it easy to access a variety of different materials to help parents and programs promote good oral health and help children have healthy teeth and smiles for life.  Examples include: national children’s dental health campaign, tips for healthy teeth, find a dentist, lessons to use with students, and fun activities for children.

You can access these resources that children, parents and caregivers, early education programs, preschools, in home family education, and school teachers can use.  These can be accessed on the website under Children’s Dental Health Section or http://www.cabellfrn.org/home/dental .

In addition, the CCFRN is promoting the resources of the American Dental Association (ADA ), American Academy of Pediatric Dentists (AAPD) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) national campaigns are doing to promote good oral health for children.

Below are items that can be accessed on each website.

Social Media for National Children’s Dental Health Month

Throughout the month, the ADA will be encouraging parents and kids to choose tap water, when possible, to quench their thirst and avoid drinks with added sugar like soda and sweetened juices.  Also important is maintaining good oral health by brushing, flossing and eating healthy. We invite you to help spread the message — together we can help keep smiles sparkling!

Follow the campaign on ADA social media channels Facebook and Twitter

February is National Children’s Dental Health Month and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) is sharing tips and tricks for parents on how to help their kids avoid tooth decay and cavities.

In between Valentines and Presidents, we hope you have time to celebrate National Children’s Dental Health Month (NCDHM) to help raise awareness about the importance of oral health. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is celebrating with a number of informational items for members and the public to help raise awareness around children’s oral health and the need for primary care to be part of the solution. To break down the month, the AAP has identified themes for each week in February and below you will find resources related to each theme. We encourage you to share this information on social media, through newsletters, and your networks. You can do so by tweeting/sharing and re-tweeting from the AAP or the Campaign for Dental Health (CDH) Twitter and Facebook pages that will be active with children’s oral health messages during this month. We also invite pediatricians, dentists, and other allied health professionals to join the AAP Section on Oral Health during the month of February in celebration of NCDHM.
