The Coordinating Council for Independent Living and West Virginia’s Choice is one of the largest and most experienced agency providing Case Management and Direct Care Services in the state of West Virginia. With 8 office locations throughout West Virginia, CCIL can provide several state & federally funded programs in all 55 counties of West Virginia. These programs are an alternative to a long-term care facility such as a group home or nursing home and provide assistance with activities of daily living in the recipient’s own home. In-home care assistance can be provided to individuals whom are elderly, physically disabled and/or developmentally disabled. CCIL serves both children and adults in need of daily living assistance.
West Virginia’s Choice provides the actual day-to-day tasks involved in remaining independent. A Direct Care Worker, employed with WVC, will provide assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, shopping, laundry and light housekeeping.
Services are provided right in the individual’s home. One must meet certain medical and financial criteria to qualify for services under WV Medicaid. Such programs include WV Personal Care, Aged/Disabled Waiver, IDD Waiver, TBI Waiver and WV Select Private Pay Services. We also have a contract with the VA and UMWA to provide a personal care attendant in the home once eligibility is determined by the VA or UMWA.
