STEAM Expedition Event

Remake Learning Days

May 17, 2018

4:00pm-7:00pm

Cabell County 4-H Camp

During this outdoor event, youth and their guardians will gain hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) experience through multiple makerspace activities and a geocaching. Participants will first learn the fundamentals of GPS units and geocaching, followed by a geocaching scavenger hunt.  Each scavenger hunt site will include a group problem-solving activity that must be completed prior to receiving the locations for the subsequent site.  Site activities will include five STEAM makerspaces using natural materials, found objects, circuitry, and robotics.  Youth will lead the problem-solving and teamwork at each of the sites to complete the challenges.

This event is targeted for youth 8-12 years of age.  Adult supervision is required throughout the event.  Families are welcome.

Registration is required by May 4, 2018.  All youth and adult participants must complete a 4-H Health History Form prior to participation.
