Catholic Charities West Virginia is striving to educate people in the Mountain State about the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and provide eligible families with enrollment assistance. If one person is going hungry, that is one too many. We will continue to assist West Virginians in accessing the assistance they need to keep food on their tables, and to keep them from falling through the cracks.

By visiting one of our regional offices or by calling our toll-free number (1-844-292-3217), West Virginians will receive a personal, confidential screening to determine if they may be eligible for this important benefit and assistance in completing the application for the program. Additionally, they can be connected to other services that are offered in their area, such as basic needs assistance, utility and rent assistance, and food pantries.

SNAP is one of the most effective and efficient ways to end hunger in our state. This critical program provides many individuals in need with the ability to provide nutritious and healthy meals to their families. Unfortunately, a large number of families eligible for this benefit are not aware of this critical resource. Support from the USDA and the Walmart Foundation will help Catholic Charities West Virginia to close this gap through outreach and enrollment assistance.
